Cities of Northern England

Challenge
Motivated by Hull being the UK's city of Culture 2017 Enjoy England and the key northern cities along the M62 corridor commissioned us to create the brand for a new cultural tourist offer. Our challenge was to create an identity and guidelines that would work not just for the cultural visitor but for the varied offers of the individual cities too. 

Results
The brand structure visualises the dynamic, connected nature of the North's cultural collection whilst the colour spectrum represents the vibrant, physical coast-to-coast, north to south landscape of the journey ahead.

The brand guidelines focused on how to communicate the brand offer through language and imagery and how to communicate the connected nature of these northern Cities through rail, road, air and sea that seamlessly links east to west and northto south.

Launched with Hull, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool, the Cities of Northern England is a brand that is designed to grow and encompass future city offers as the North's cultural renaissance continues unabated.
