Sheffield advertising agency, Front has been briefed by VisitBritain to create a national press advertising campaign to support general tourism and visits to the English countryside due to the cumulative effects of security alerts, foot and mouth outbreaks, flooding and bad weather.
As part of the Rural Escapes campaign, a series of full colour executions, under the banner 'Made for Summer’, has been devised and will appear in the majority of national press titles.
Rural Escapes is a new initiative for VisitBritain and the first campaign to focus specifically on countryside breaks in the UK by showcasing inspiring, surprising and unique ideas of places to see and things to do.
Chris David of Front, said; ‘The core creative thinking behind the campaign aims to celebrate our very own great outdoors and breathtaking landscapes by interpreting the UK as a contemporary and exciting holiday destination, able to satisfy the demands of the discerning and experience-led traveller of 2007.’
VisitBritain was formed on 1st April 2003 to market Britain to the rest of the world and England to the British population - through the Enjoy England brand. Formed by the merger of the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourism Council, its mission is to build the value of tourism by creating world-class destination brands and marketing campaigns.
