Front to Remind UK Public of What England has to Offer with Enjoy England Brief
Mar 07 2008
Sheffield advertising agency Front has been briefed by Enjoy England, the official tourist board for England and part of VisitBritain, to create an innovative piece of direct mail to inspire UK holiday makers to take rural short breaks right here in England.
The project is part of VisitBritain’s Rural Recovery Campaign and aims to show that the countryside is ‘open for businesses’ despite a tough few months following events such as the foot and mouth outbreak and the flooding in parts of the country.
The 26 page direct mail piece, which has been launched this week, introduces five inspirational ideas for each of England’s nine regions and aims to capture the immediacy and attractiveness of a short break in England throughout the winter months. From castles in Yorkshire, to Christmas markets in the South East to indulgent retreats in Cheshire, the guide is bursting with information and showcases the very best of what England has to offer.
The creative has been mailed to 500,000 people and builds on the success of the recent Rural Escapes brochure, which won an award at this year’s Chartered Institute of Marketing Tourism Advertising Awards.
Joe Chetcuti, director of Front, said; ‘We’ve worked with Enjoy England on previous projects and saw this as a fantastic challenge. England is an amazing country with loads to offer for the domestic traveller, so we’re sure this piece will help to inspire and motivate people to look at what’s right on their doorstep!’
Amanda Smyth, marketing manager at Enjoy England, commented; ‘England boasts some world class attractions, landscapes and cities so it’s great to see them showcased in such a creative, relevant and accessible way.'
Visit Britain was formed on 1st April 2003 to market Britain to the rest of the world and England to the British population - through the Enjoy England brand. Formed by the merger of the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourism Council, its mission is to build the value of tourism by creating world-class destination brands and marketing campaigns.
This new project follows a string of recent new business wins for Front.
